Install Windows Terminal

Install Windows Terminal from the Microsoft Store or winget on Windows 10/11, then verify the wt command is available.

1. Step 1

   Preferred: install Windows Terminal from the Microsoft Store (https://aka.ms/terminal). Alternative: winget install --id Microsoft.WindowsTerminal -e (requires WinGet 1.6.2631+ for recent Terminal releases). Or download an MSIX from https://github.com/microsoft/terminal/releases (GitHub installs do not auto-update).

2. Step 2

   Launch Windows Terminal from the Start menu. Optionally set it as the default terminal app in Windows Terminal Settings → Startup.

3. Step 3

   wt -v
