Install GitHub CLI (gh)

Install the GitHub CLI via package manager for your OS, optionally authenticate with gh auth login, then verify with gh --version.

1. Step 1

   Install gh per https://github.com/cli/cli#installation . macOS: brew install gh . Windows: winget install --id GitHub.cli . Linux: use the official apt/dnf/yum packages from that page, or download a release from https://cli.github.com/ .

2. Step 2

   Optional: run gh auth login and complete the browser or token flow so API commands work.

3. Step 3

   gh --version
